Inaugural season goodness

This post seems fitting as we kick off another season of CBJ hockey... Reader Charles documented the Columbus Blue Jackets' first season well:
In my collection you will find a reprint of the Front page Columbus Dispatch from 10/8/00 declaring "Making history - Blue Jackets take to the ice in NHL debut" with a photograph of Robert Kron winning the CBJ's first ever face off in their first ever game. Below the photo is a list of the opening day roster and a photo of the ticket issued for the game.

The other items in my Inaugural Season collection includes:

  • A pennant from the first game, the program and ticket from the first game, a pocket schedule for the first season, logo sticker, one of the patches that were worn on the jerseys that year, a signed Knutsen and Heward Inaugural Season logo puck, an unsigned Inaugural Season logo puck
  • An Inaugural Season team photo signed by Whitney, Knutsen and Denis
  • Finally, a game used puck from the first game that was shot into the crowd at Nationwide Arena.
I have many other items from the Blue Jackets first season but these are some of the better items.
What an incredible collection...thank you, Charles, for sharing!
